Victory Cruise Line, a new Miami-based operator, is to begin sailing from Montreal, Canada, to ports in Canada and the US Great Lakes this July.

Starting on 8 July, Victory Cruise Line will operate three- to 14-day itineraries to the Great Lakes and Canada onboard its 5,000gt, 300-foot-long Victory I, which formerly sailed as bankrupt cruise operator Haimark Line’s Saint Laurent. The ship will remain in the region until early autumn.

Victory I will then reposition to sail Florida-Cuba itineraries from November. Set to depart on 28 October, the first planned cruise to Cuba is a seven-day voyage from Port Canaveral and will be the first cruise to depart for Cuba from a Central Florida port. The ship will then sail three- to 14-days Cuba itineraries from PortMiami until April 2017.

“We intend to make our product the standard of excellence for small-ship cruising to the Great Lakes and Cuba, while providing great value for our guests,” said Bruce Nierenberg, president and CEO of Victory Cruise Lines. “The senior management of Victory Cruise Lines has over 100 years of experience operating some of the most successful and loved cruise products.”

Victory I, which has been renovated, has 101 staterooms and a maximum guest capacity of 202.
