Marine and fire safety equipment manufacturer Viking Life-saving Equipment, has announced that it is to open four new servicing stations at Brest, France; Split, Croatia; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; and Port Klang, Malaysia in a bid to expand the firm’s presence in Europe and Asia.
The new facility in Split, the company’s first in Croatia, has been outfitted to provide servicing to liferafts, marine evacuations systems, lifeboats, davits and release hooks and immersion suits.
Kaohsiung, the biggest port in Taiwan, was rated the world’s twelfth most important container port in 2009 by the American Association of Port Authorities and is the fulfilment of a long-term ambition by Viking to open up a facility in the area. While the company’s latest Malaysian presence, Port Klang, was established as a direct consequence of customer feedback.
“Listening and responding to customers is key to the continued success and growth of any business,” said Henrik Uhd Christensen, Viking CEO. “At the same time, Port Klang is Malaysia’s largest and busiest port and a natural choice for a focused service offering that answers the needs of many of our customers operating in the area”.
Viking now has a worldwide network of over 60 branch offices and 270 certified servicing points.
