Viking Line will launch a service between Helsinki, Finland and the Åland Islands, with Gabriella offering cruises three days a week beginning on 1 July.

Gabriella will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:30pm from Helsinki and arrive in Mariehamn the next day at 8am. The vessel will then leave for Helsinki at 4pm, stopping at Talinn, Estonia, on the return journey. Viking Line operates daily service to Åland with six vessels, with the new service further expanding the range of routes on offer.

“Our company has its roots in Åland, and the genuine love of the sea and nature that the company’s founders grew up with still shapes operations today,” said Jan Hanses, president and CEO of Viking Line. “People are always surrounded by the Baltic Sea here. We are pleased to welcome our Finnish passengers to our own summer paradise.”

Viking Line has taken several measures to ensure the safety of its services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Half as many passengers will be accepted per departure, and the number of guests allowed into restaurants and shops will be limited. Passenger flows will be controlled during boarding and disembarking, while the cruise line’s cleaning procedures have been expanded and intensified.
