Viking Line’s Gabriella returned to service on the Helsinki–Stockholm route on 21 April following an extensive modernisation.

Following her three-week drydock, the cruise ferry has been fitted with eight new restaurants, including Bistrotek, the open-kitchen Grill restaurant, Coffee & Joy, and No Name, which offers seven- and nine-course tasting menus. The nightclub was also upgraded with new technology and renamed Club Mar, while the Upstairs Pub serves as a karaoke and troubadour venue early in the evening, and a club later at night.

There’s also a new playroom for children, spaces for teenagers to play games and socialise, a pop-up shop at the entrance desk and an extended duty- and tax-free shop, which offers an expanded range of beauty and fashion products.

In addition, Gabriella’s entrance foyer and were renovated, while 100 cabins received a facelift and 26 four-person Comfort Class cabins were added. All cabin classes from Comfort upward were equipped with new mattresses.

“Our vessels still offer timeless favourites such as well-known entertainers, playroom ball pools and buffet meals, but we would also like to offer new experiences,” said Lauri Orpana, Viking Line’s route manager. “This is why both of our vessels on the Helsinki–Stockholm route have undergone extensive modernisations.”

Viking Line’s Mariella, which also operates on the Helsinki–Stockholm route between Finland and Sweden, was refitted a year ago.
