Viking Ocean Cruises’ Viking Star made her inaugural call at the French port of Le Havre on 14 August.

To mark the call, the ship’s captain Gulleik Svalastog and representatives from Le Havre Cruise Club exchanged commemorative plaques during an onboard ceremony. After the ceremony, assistant cruise director Adams Wood took local visitors on a tour of the ship.

Meanwhile, guests were able to visit the city centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as the MuMa museum, shops, the beach and other local attractions.

Viking Star is scheduled to make three calls at Le Havre next year and Viking Ocean Cruises has already booked visits for 2017, which also marks the 500th anniversary of Le Havre.
