VMFood Finland, which supplies Nordic-inspired food products to cruise operators such as Viking Line, is to expand sales support and production into the UK, European and US markets.

The Nordic company, which has supplied produce to the passenger shipping, hotel and other industries since 1994, has already strengthened its UK and European sales teams, while funding has been allocated for a new production and distribution facility in the US. Located in Florida, the facility will produce and distribute lines for the US markets.

“2014 will be a very good year for us as we have big expansion plans – our new production and distribution facility will enable us to offer products, support and service at the levels customers expect,” said Markku Lilja, managing director of VMFood Finland. “However, we won’t lose our focus on developing innovative products and being a totally customer focused, family-run business offering the highest quality products.”

VMFood Finland has also introduced the latest slicing machinery, meaning that it can now offer a range of pre-controlled, pre-sliced products. This reduces time to service and waste, while increasing cost control.
