Voyages to Antiquity’s Aegean Odyssey made her first call to Falmouth on 22 June, marking the first time the company has visited the UK in its seven-year history.

The 350-passenger Aegean Odyssey arrived in Falmouth at 7am as part of her 24-day ‘Grand European Voyage’, ahead of the ahead of Voyages to Antiquity’s first dedicated European programme that features no fly cruising from the UK.

Aegean Odyssey will head to the Mediterranean before returning to the UK next year for the new 2017 programme featuring 17 itineraries, four ex-UK sailings and maiden visits to the Orkney and Shetland Islands in Scotland, as well as Iceland and Olbia in Sardinia.

“Today’s UK visit is the perfect way to mark the launch of our new dedicated European and UK 2017 programme,” said Jos Dewing, managing director at Voyages to Antiquity. “Not only are we introducing many new ports of call but we also have our first ever no-fly cruises from the UK.”

On 29 June 2017 and 8 August, the ship will sail a 15-day ‘Iceland, Faroes and Shetland Islands’ roundtrip from Tilbury in London. The itinerary features visits to Rosyth, the Orkney Islands and Lerwick (Shetland Islands) in Scotland, as well as calls to Torshavn in the Faroe Islands and the Icelandic ports of Heimaey, Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Husavik.

In July 2017, guests will be able to enjoy a 16-day ‘England, Ireland and Scotland’ cruise, which departs from Tilbury in London and includes calls at Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Douglas in the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, Falmouth, Liverpool in England, and an overnight in Dublin, Ireland. The ship will also visit various Scottish ports, including Isle of Arran, Stornoway in the Hebrides, Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands, Scrabster, Oban and Greenock in Edinburgh, where guests will enjoy a two-night hotel stay before flying home.
