Germany-based manufacturer Wanzl has supplied almost 1,000 trolleys to help crew onboard AIDA Cruises’ AIDAprima to move passenger luggage and laundry around the ship.

Housekeeping staff can use Wanzl’s 98 Premium ZP Classic Chambermaid trolleys to transport towels and guests supplies to cabins, and remove dirty laundry. There are also 120 laundry trolleys, which have a fifth castor in the centre to improve manoeuvrability.

In addition, Wanzl has provided 250 cruise mobile containers to help quickly transport passenger luggage from the check-in points at the cruise terminal to the cabins during embarkation. All items of luggage are pre-sorted on the cruise mobile containers ready to be transported to the correct deck and cabin. The process is reversed during disembarkation.

More than 50 luggage collection trolleys can then be used to carry passengers’ suitcases and other items. Crew also used a further 350 order picking and transport trolleys to optimise onboard logistics throughout the cruise.
