The World Travel Catering and Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) is to launch its first US-based event in Washington State, Seattle this October.
Bringing together buyers and specifiers from global charter and regional airlines, cruise and rail operators, WTCE Americas will showcase prodicts related to the onboard experience. This will include food and drink, toys, hygiene products, packaging, and galley equipment.
“Cruise is the US’ fastest growing segment of the travel industry and operators are already focusing on new ways to improve the onboard experience to attract more customers,” said Archana Sharma, WTCE Americas event manager. “Passengers now expect meals on cruises to replicated foodie trends and we are already seeing liners include burger pits and steakhouses alongside the more traditional offerings. WTCE Americas will provide the industry with a place to network and discuss the latest developments and opportunities in onboard services to ensure offerings stay in line with consumer expectations.”
In addition to the exhibition, the Passenger Experience Conference will take place on 14 October. The conference will discuss strategic issues surrounding cabin innovation, consumer expectations and strategies for profitability within the cabin. Attendees will hear from various experts including representatives from Google, eGate Solutions and JetBlue.
Sharma said: “We are already seeing some really exciting brands, services and suppliers registering their interest, and by combining both the exhibition and Passenger Experience Conference, there’s no doubt that WTCE Americas will offer visitors an opportunity to discuss the latest industry issues, as well as the latest developments in the industry on the show floor.”
