Xbox experience for Celebrity

Microsoft will provide the largest Xbox experience at sea onboard Celebrity Cruises’ ten-ship fleet, offering families interactive games experiences throughout their cruise.

The line will offer age-appropriate games, tournaments, parties and themed nights on the Xbox 360 and Kinect consoles in different venues throughout the ships.

Celebrity will also revitalise existing venues and gaming areas in the youth programme’s Fun Factory and X-Club facilities.

Greg Purdy, Celebrity Cruises’ SVP of operations, said: “Joining existing offerings like the Celebrity iLounge, an up-to-date approach to the standard internet lounge and the first authorised Apple specialist at sea, the Celebrity Xbox experience expands our technology offering with even more engaging ways for the whole family to enjoy a modern luxury holiday.”

The Xbox experience was introduced on Celebrity Constellation when it re-entered service on 5 May, after completing its scheduled drydock. Xbox 360 and Kinect will be installed on the remainder of the fleet by summer 2013, while the full gaming experience will be available on all ten ships by the end of 2013.
