Cruise & Ferry Review - Autumn/Winter 2020

1 7 2 EVENT PREV IEW A s the year 2020 draws to a close, the cruise industry will see the return of the physical conference, with a gathering planned in the UK for Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe (CSIE), which will incorporate a dedicated Health & Hygiene Zone. The event will take place at ExCeL London on 2-3 December. The organiser Elite Exhibitions is taking all steps to ensure the event can proceed safely and successfully in the wake of coronavirus. The European cruise market uniquely focuses on river and expedition cruise. River cruise is not only an expanding market, it has been the first cruise market to bounce back after the worldwide pandemic. CSIE will see over 250 exhibitors specialising in cruise interior design, outfitting and supply with highly qualified visitors over the two-day event. The CSIE conference programme, Cruise Conversations, will feature sessions exploring the most pressing and topical matters in the cruise industry. Among attendees will be a select number of power brokers from US-based cruise lines courtesy of the industry-first Hosted Buyer Programme. A dedicated Health & Hygiene Zone on the show floor will showcase suppliers of products and services for sanitation and onboard hygiene. These businesses can help cruise lines combat Covid-19 and other health-related issues onboard cruise ships. The zone will provide cruise executives with solutions in sanitation, housekeeping, dining, public areas and more, with products from air purification systems to anti-microbial textiles and anti-viral bedding. Representing a crucial aspect of the cruise industry, the Health & Hygiene Zone will bring together the leading suppliers of hygiene products and place them in front of major industry buyers on the show floor.
