Barcelona Cruise Port obtains ‘Safe Travels’ stamp Barcelona Cruise Port has been granted the ‘Safe Travels’ stamp by the World Travel & Tourism Council, certifying that its five cruise terminals have appropriate measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The company, which manages the terminals for Global Ports Holding, has worked in collaboration with the Barcelona Port Authority to implement the sanitary measures that guarantee the safety of ships, crew and passengers. The canopies have been designed to complement the historic style of the 19 warehouses along the promenade, which were built over 270 years ago. Malta’s Minister for Tourism Farrugia Portelli and Johann Buttigieg, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, attended the inauguration ceremony and visited businesses along the waterfront which have begun operating again following the Covid-19 pandemic.
