3 1 Cita Marine Furniture and Architecture has supplied loose furniture for the refurbishment of Smyril Line’s Norröna. The € 13 million ($15.7 million) retrofit saw the addition of 50 new luxury cabins, along with a new outdoor sky bar and a lounge area with a panoramic view on the redesigned upper deck. The company provided all tables, chairs, daybeds and sofas for the Skybar, suites and Munkastova Restaurant. All of the supplied products are made from sustainable materials and have received certification for use onboard ships. Cita Marine Furniture and Architecture provide furniture for Smyril Line Austal to build catamaran ferry for French Polynesia Australia-based shipbuilding company Austal has been awarded a € 20.5 million ($24.1 million), contract to design and build a 66-metre, high-speed catamaran ferry named Apetahi Express for The Degage Group of French Polynesia. Apetahi Express will be able to accommodate 574 passengers over two decks, with an additional 80 seats available on a sun deck. Work commenced on the new ferry in August 2021 at Austal Vietnam shipyard, with a scheduled delivery in the first half of 2023. Norwegian Cruise Line’s new cruise ship Norwegian Prima has been floated out from her dry dock at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The event marked a major milestone in the construction of the first ship in the Prima class, which is the first new class of vessels for the brand in nearly 10 years. Work will continue on the ship’s interior fittings and guest accommodations ahead of her officially delivery and inaugural season in summer 2022. Norwegian Prima will offer itineraries in Northern Europe with voyages from Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Copenhagen, Denmark, sailing to the Norwegian Fjords and Baltic Sea.
