The cruise vessel management business will continue running fleets for its existing UK shipping operators while aiming to attract new clients. “This is an exciting development for CCS and we’re really looking forward to making a difference in the UK market, as well as establishing new partnerships,” said Olaf Groeger, managing director of CCS. The 80-page report includes an overview of the current regulatory landscape, provides updates on new technologies and fuels, and investigates the financing of green onboard investments. Cruise Terminals A and F will be the first facilities at PortMiami to be equipped to provide shore power, Miami-Dade County has announced. Cruise Terminal F, which is undergoing an expansion, is currently operated by Carnival Cruise Line, while Cruise Terminal A is operated by Royal Caribbean Group. The two cruise companies have agreed to launch phase one of the programme for connections at the terminals. The phase will require each party to implement improvements on the electrical grid and supply lines, shoreside equipment on the pier and shore-to-ship connections on the cruise vessels. The authority is continuing to work with other cruise partners to install shore power at the port’s other facilities, with Norwegian Cruise Line also committing to upgrade its new Cruise Terminal B by autumn 2023.
