F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s adhesive enables luxury carpet installation Contractor Venue Marine (working on behalf of Aecor Marine) has installed luxury carpet onboard P&O Cruises’ Ventura with the help of F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s Styccobond F40 high-tack adhesive dual bond system and Styccobond F3 water-based rubber/resin adhesive. Styccobond F40 adhesive can be used to create either a permanent or peelable bond for the installation of carpet or underlay. Venue Marine used a peelable bond onboard Ventura, allowing the adhesive to dry to a transparent, permanently tack film before laying the underlay in position. This peelable bond will hold the underlay firmly in place during its working life and also allow it to be easily lifted and removed during the ship’s next scheduled refit without causing damage to the subfloor. Venue Marine then used the Styccobond F3 adhesive to adhere the luxury carpet to the underlay.
