Norwegian Cruise Line is to debut the first of six new Prima-class vessels, Norwegian Prima, in 2022. A range of new venues and spaces will be introduced onboard, including a 40,000 square- foot Ocean Boulevard promenade, the Indulge Food Hall and The Concourse, an outdoor sculpture garden featuring art and installations by Davd Harber and Alexander Krivosheiw. Among the architects and designers to work onboard the ship are Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, Tillberg Design of Sweden, YSA Design and Studio DADO. The vessel will be constructed by Fincantieri at its shipyard in Marghera, Italy, with a series of inaugural cruises scheduled for August 2022. Norwegian Cruise Line to debut Norwegian Prima in 2022 YSA Design partners with Ship Planner Design firm YSA Design has partnered with Ship Planner, a platform designed to accommodate digital solutions into design decision-making. The platform provides an analytics- driven methodology for owners to consider the impact these solutions can have at the ship design stage and how they can be integrated to best effect. YSA design is working to integrate digitalised spatial planning techniques used by land-based architects into the platform’s capabilities. “Ultimately, the aim is to create an open marketplace to share between owners, designers and technologists for their mutual instruction,” said Kristian Englund, senior architect at YSA Design.
