2 9 CITA Design to create cabin spaces for Havila Voyages Why choose F.Ball and Co Ltd’s dual bond adhesive system? CITA Design is to produce concept designs for the accommodation areas onboard Havila Pollux and Havila Polaris, two new passenger vessels that are being built for Norwegian ferry operator Havila Voyages. The firm has previously designed spaces onboard the ships’ predecessors Havila Capella and Havila Castor. Each vessel will have capacity for 640 passengers and operate on the Norwegian Coastal route between Bergen and Kirkenes. CITA Design will develop concepts for the ships’ passenger, owner and crew cabins. F. Ball and Co. Ltd.’s Styccobond F40 high-tack adhesive dual bond system provides cruise ship and ferry operators with an easy and efficient way to install carpet or underlay on their vessels. Once an underlay has been installed with a peelable F40 bond adhesive, carpet can be installed using a permanent textile flooring adhesive, such as F. Ball’s F3 water-based rubber/resin adhesive. This ensures the flooring installation won’t ruck, move or lift throughout its working life, but that it can easily be lifted and removed during ship refits without causing damage to either the carpet or the subfloor. Contractor Venue Marine, working on behalf of Aecor Marine, used this adhesive combination to provide a luxurious carpet finish in one of the bar areas onboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jewel.
