MARKETWATCH Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Prima-class ship, Norwegian Viva, sailed its maiden voyage from Venice, Italy, on 10 August. The nine-day itinerary took guests to Salerno in Italy, Cannes in France, and Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, before finishing in Libson, Portugal. Norwegian Viva’s official christening ceremony is scheduled to take place on 28 November 2023 in Miami, Florida, where Latin Grammy awardwinning artist and ship godfather Luis Fonsi will officially name the ship. Emerald Cruises’ new luxury yacht Emerald Sakara has started its inaugural season sailing in Italy, Greece and the Adriatic. The luxury vessel was officially welcomed to the fleet by sister yacht, Emerald Azzurra, as the two ships sailed through the Corinth Canal in Greece. Emerald Sakara will be christened in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 2 December 2023, by godmother Kelly Craighead, president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association.
