MARKETWATCH: EVENT PREVIEW 40 Marine Interiors Cruise & Ferry Global Expo will explore current and future trends in the interior design of cruise ships and passenger ferries when it takes place at the Hamburg Messe exhibition campus in Hamburg, Germany, on 6-8 September 2023. The third edition of Marine Interiors will see international exhibitors showcasing their expertise in interior design for passenger ships to an industry audience. For example, Papenburg, Germany-based shipyard Meyer Werft will highlight its innovative design visions at the event, presenting its idea for what a cruise ship might look like by 2100. “We are looking forward to Marine Interiors and the opportunity to share thoughts and views with other members of the maritime community,” said Alexander Höfling, the yard’s managing director. The wide range of topics addressed at the conference sessions, which will feature more than 60 top speakers from shipyards, design studios, architectural firms and suppliers, will deliver plenty of inspiration for further conversations. Examples of topics will include ferry interiors, the refit of the future, sustainable interior design, the role of passenger shipping as a technology avantgarde, and many more. “What makes this event especially compelling is that in addition to suppliers, shipbuilders and ship designers, it will also be attended by cruise operators and representatives of cruise destinations because the Seatrade Europe – Cruise and River Cruise Convention will take place in parallel,” said Claus Ulrich Selbach, business unit director for maritime and technology fairs at Hamburg Messe und Congress. “As the last day of both events coincides with the opening of the Hamburg Cruise Days, the combination of all three will turn the city into the hub of the cruise world for several days, and a perfect place for experts to network.” On 5 September, Hamburg Messe und Congress partner Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) will also hold its Ports & Destinations Dialogue, a business platform for cruise lines and leading representatives of ports, destinations and travel agencies. “It is appropriate that such a prestigious event on the cruise calendar will take place in Hamburg, a leading cruise hub in Europe,” said Kelly Craighead, president and CEO of CLIA. www.marineinteriors-expo.com Marine Interiors Cruise & Ferry Global Expo, powered by SMM 6-8 September 2023 | Hamburg, Germany
