Cruise & Ferry Interiors 2024

105 Robos Contract Furniture and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection first collaborated on the luxury cruise brand’s first ship, Evrima, in 2019. Following the success of this project, they have partnered up to work on the brand’s second ship, Ilma. A crucial reason for Robos’s involvement is its experience in the cruise industry and its relationship with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique, which is constructing the vessel. Robos was first appointed to create and deliver tables and sofas for Ilma in August 2022. The Robos team is on the home stretch, working on the latest furniture designs and aiming to deliver them to the new superyacht by the first week of June 2024. “We have provided advice on materials, applicability and functionality,” says Sascha Bosch, owner of Robos. The furniture company has produced over 300 dining, foldable and side tables for indoor and outdoor use, as well as over 100 metres of banquette sofa seating and nearly 1,500 cushions. The highlight of the project are the dining tables. “They will be seen all around the ship in a lot of different areas,” says Bosch. “It’s a very specific design for private dining. The combination of the materials is what makes these tables special – the oak, stainless steel, brushed bronze and lacquer navy. The design and luxury feel are evident through the materials, fabrics and details.” Ilma is expected to set sail in September in the Mediterranean, visiting places such as the Amalfi Coast, Greek Isles, Monte Carlo, Rome in Italy, and Barcelona in Spain.
