127 INTERVIEW Anglo-Eastern is overseeing hotel operations aboard two Great Lakes vessels for Victory Cruise Line (Victory I pictured left), and is the technical manager for Four Seasons’ new luxury yacht Taking a tailored approach Anglo-Eastern’s Frits van der Werff tells Richard Humphreys how the company is delivering excellence on multiple projects The past few years have been an exciting time for ship management company Anglo-Eastern. In December 2022, it acquired Cruise Management International (CMI) and CMI Leisure Management (CMILM), rebranding the two as Anglo-Eastern Cruise Management and Anglo-Eastern Leisure Management. And in 2024, Anglo-Eastern Leisure Management has been selected by Victory Cruise Line to take charge of hotel operations aboard two of its Great Lakes vessels, which will start sailing in April and May 2025. “Our role in this partnership will include overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, from onboard guest services and dining to housekeeping” says Frits van der Werff, vice president of commercial at AngloEastern’s Miami office. “We’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of service quality, safety and guest satisfaction while aligning with Victory’s brand, which offers an intimate, authentic lake cruising experience.” Anglo-Eastern has also partnered with Four Seasons on a new ultraluxury cruise yacht and is working as the technical manager for this project. “With Four Seasons I, the focus is to create a highly tailored, luxury product and we’re not just providing traditional ship management but also working closely with the shipyard to ensure the construction aligns perfectly with the owner’s vision and the exceptional service standards associated with the Four Seasons brand,” says Van der Werff. “While expedition cruising involves ships designed for adventure and exploration, the luxury yacht segment requires a different level of detail, customisation and refinement. Our role here extends beyond technical management into a more holistic partnership that ensures both the construction and long-term operational success of this exquisite vessel.” These partnerships, Van der Werff believes, stem from Anglo-Eastern’s holistic approach to ship management. “We focus not only on operational efficiency and technical expertise but also on providing bespoke services that meet the unique needs of each client.” “ We’re committed to maintaining the highest standards of service quality, safety and guest satisfaction”
