Cruise & Ferry Review - Spring/Summer 2025

Enter a new dimension where time and space merge into eternal moments. TUSCANY A NEVER-ENDING RENAISSANCE The North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority is responsible for coordinating, controlling and promoting the ports of Livorno, Piombino, Portoferraio, Rio Marina, Cavo and Capraia. Together they handle over 42 million tonnes of goods and 9 million passengers a year. While Rio Marina, Cavo and Capraia are mainly ferry ports, Portoferraio and the multipurpose ports of Livorno and Piombino also specialize in cruise traffic, offering excellent road, rail and international airport links. A major hub in the national and international passenger traffic scene, both for ferries going to the Islands of Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily and Capraia and for the leading cruise lines, the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority comprises the ports of Livorno, Piombino, Portoferraio, Rio Marina, Cavo and Capraia. While the last three are mainly ferry (but potentially cruise) ports, Livorno, Piombino and Portoferraio also handle cruise traffic. Connected to the rail and road network and served by two major international airports (Pisa and Florence), they are also the natural gateway for tourists visiting Tuscany with its art cities, unspoilt nature and beaches.
