40 MAIDEN SEASON Mein Schiff Relax The new TUI Cruises ship is set to explore the Western Mediterranean, departing from Palma de Mallorca Mein Schiff Relax, the eighth ship in the Mein Schiff fleet and the first in the InTUItion class, promises to provide a “new feel-good experience”, according to Daniela Hensel, spokesperson for Mein Schiff, owned by TUI Cruises – which belongs to TUI Group and Royal Caribbean Group. “Our new ship offers our guests a highquality world of relaxation,” she says. Mein Schiff Relax is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, and is expected to be completed by March 2025, when it starts its first voyages from Palma de Mallorca. The newly designed inside, outside and balcony cabins will offer freedom for guests to cruise either alone, as a couple or as a family. The high proportion of balcony cabins that are typical of the Mein Schiff fleet has been further increased to 85 per cent on Mein Schiff Relax so that guests will be able to really enjoy the views of the destinations that they visit. The ship’s maiden season will begin with a seven-night cruise from Palma called ‘Bella Italia Spanish Fiesta’, visiting Civitavecchia, close to Rome in Italy, La Spezia in the Italian Riviera and the Spanish cities of Barcelona and Valencia. “Civitavecchia, Rome’s historic harbour, is the gateway to the Eternal City”, according to TUI Cruises. From here, travellers can reach Rome’s worldfamous sights such as the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel in no time at all. But Civitavecchia itself also has a lot to offer with its Michelangelo Fortress and charming old town streets. Meanwhile, La Spezia provides a more relaxed and picturesque experience for visitors seeking a blend of natural beauty and cultural discovery.
