Cruise & Ferry Itinerary Planning 2020

River cruise operator American Cruise Lines is to introduce a new modern riverboat, three itineraries and over 50 shore excursions in 2021. American will introduce a new eight-day ‘Cape Codder’ roundtrip from Boston, Massachusetts, which will visit small ports in the New England region and feature an exclusive partnership with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The cruise line will also debut an eight-day ‘Music Cities’ cruise from Nashville to Memphis, Tennessee, and an 11-day ‘Alaskan Explorers’ itinerary departing from Juneau, Alaska, which will include two days in Glacier Bay. American Cruise Lines to debut new ship and itineraries in 2021 A new gateway to Valencia The Port of Valencia has awarded Global Ports Holding and Spanish ferry operator Baleària with a 35-year concession agreement to build and operate a new passenger terminal. The new infrastructure will span approximately 100,000 square metres in the former shipyard of Unión Naval de Levante. Parts of the shipyard that are considered to be of historical value, including two cranes and a water tank, will be integrated into the new terminal. The facility has been designed to ensure that 100 per cent of the required energy will be generated on-site from renewable sources, including solar, wind, renewable hydrogen and biofuel. Cruise and ferry passengers calling at the new terminal will be able to easily access the city of Valencia and enjoy the history, culture, gastronomy and experiences offered in the wider region. Azamara will resume cruise operations in the 2021 Europe season, when Azamara Quest will return to sailing on 20 March 2021. The ship will sail the originally scheduled 12-night ‘Spain Intensive Voyage’, which will begin in Lisbon, Portugal, and call at Spanish destinations including Seville, Malaga, Valencia and Barcelona. She will be followed by Azamara Journey, which will depart on a ‘Iberia Intensive’ cruise on 9 April 2021, while Azamara Pursuit will embark on a ‘Greek Country-Intensive’ series of voyages on 9 May 2021 from Athens, Greece.
