The Port of Oslo has completed a new harbour promenade, which extends for 10 kilometres along the city’s waterfront. Cruise guests to the city can follow large orange information towers situated along the route, which are decorated with art and hold boards with information on nearby attractions. While walking along the promenade, they can view the paintings of Edvard Munch at the new MUNCH, eat at the Vippa food court and see the nomadic art project SALT. The Port of Melilla is making improvements to its local cruise offering to attract cruise operators to the Spanish city. The port has introduced several new options for shore excursions in Melilla, including visits to underground galleries used in a siege of the city in 1774 and the nearby fortress, as well as guided tours to the central Mosque of Melilla. The city has also established docking preference for cruise ships in port facilities, which include a passenger terminal and three associated docks. PortMiami is continuing to progress with its expansion plans, after Miami-Dade County officials authorised the issuance of $335 million in bonds to the port in Miami, Florida. The bonds will allow the port to continue its joint cruise infrastructure projects with Carnival Corporation, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Terminal Link Miami and Virgin Voyages, as well as several other infrastructure developments intended to expand its business opportunities. Oslo showcases new harbour promenade Melilla aims to expand cruise operations PortMiami moves forward with expansion projects V&A Waterfront to develop food community incubator The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa, is developing a food community incubator called Makers Landing, which will add 4,248 square metres to the existing Cape Town Cruise Terminal. The new development will include a shared incubator kitchen, a demo kitchen, eight maker production stations, a food market, eight small co-op eateries and five anchor restaurants, all of which will feature local South African food. The building will be 15 metres from the edge of the quay, allowing guests to watch cruise ships arrive in the port as they eat. Makers Landing is scheduled to open in December 2020.
