[ 82 ] THE SHIP OF THE FUTURE HBM has established an integrated operation platform combining R&D, design, production, sales and turnkey services. The company’s modern production base occupies about 100,000m2 in Foshan, with an annual output of 1.6 million m2 of metal composite rock wool panel/ aluminium honeycomb panel, 80,000 sets of fireproof doors, 30,000 sets of bathroom units and 3,000 sets of modular cabins. R&D innovation is the source of enterprise development for HBM. The company’s outfitting design team comprises more than 70 professionals and has jointly established a ship outfitting R&D base with Wuhan Institute of Technology. Its fields include interior outfitting design, art direction, theme planning, and cultural and creative products for cruise ships, passenger ships and yachts, among other ship types. HBM injects a large amount of funding into R&D every year and is committed to the development of new products, new processes and the localisation of materials, with special focus on internal accommodation for passenger ships, including ro-pax ferries such as P&O Ferries’ brand-new Fusion-class. In order to better stabilise and improve the production accuracy and quality level of products, our main equipment is imported from abroad and is the basis of a modern production workshop and high-end product quality. Our factory has passed the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and our products carry the approval certificates of major classification societies such as ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, EC, KR, LR, NK, USCG, and three legal certificates MED, JG, RRR, a number of nearly 500. Product diversity is key and, given our customers’ diversified needs, HBM can adopt flexible forms and processing methods according to different user environments to achieve the appropriate diversified functions. Ordinary wallboards and ceilings have the properties of heat preservation and moisture resistance but, by changing the core material, the fireproofing requirements of wall panels and ceilings are ensured. For rooms requiring sound insulation, the panel thickness can be increased and the core material changed. We can provide wall panels of type A, C and M, lining panels, aluminium honeycomb panels, and ceilings of type A, D, P, F, strip ceilings, and curtain ceilings.
